LONDON

REF: IRC59365

In this highly influential role, working directly with the Board and senior management, you will improve the way risk is managed across the whole of the Department of Energy and Climate Change. It’s a fast-moving environment, where you’ll have the ability to develop our risk strategy in really creative ways.

You’ll manage DECC’s top-level risk register, making sure it’s a relevant and useful document that can inform strategic decision making across DECC. You’ll also work closely with the Departmental Board, which comprises Minsters, top officials and Non-Executive Directors, including the Chief Executives of several major companies. You’ll liaise closely with them to develop high-level risk assurance processes for activities in which they play a leading role, as well as working with the independent team on our Audit and Risk Sub-Committee.

You’ll need to have significant experience of risk management – ideally at a strategic level. You’ll have a formal qualification in risk management such as Management of Risk™ Practitioner, or an equivalent qualification from the Institute of Risk Management. An inspiring leader with strong project management skills, you’re full of initiative and drive. A creative and strategic thinker, you will deliver change at the heart of DECC.
