Greenpeace is looking for a Data Strategist for the Digital team. This position requires someone with meticulous attention to detail, who loves digging into data to come up with insights for the Digital team. Primarily you’ll be helping the organization come up with KPIs for our campaigns, pulling in data from various sources and translating this into insight for organizational growth. The best person for this role will be a natural problem solver with a strong technical background as well as a general understanding of marketing.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  1. Translating data into actionable insight reports on organizational performance and recommendations for growth.

  2. Leading all testing and analysis for digital team supporter acquisition and supporter journey with a view to making strategic recommendations on list management and content improvement.

  3. Processing and importing data into Greenpeace’s online advocacy platform from a variety of sources across the Program and Fundraising and Engagement departments. Recommending and/or implementing measures or improvements to ensure data quality and integrity is high.

  4. Managing the database and performing operations to support Digital, Mobilization or Fundraising and Engagement objectives – testing, segmentations, list management and content improvement (by de-duping, designing and implementing list-building strategies)

  5. Ensuring compliance with and contribution to relevant policies (e.g. CASL, Anti-Spam, Privacy).

  6. Acting as data bridge between Program and Fundraising, regularly liaising with the data team and acting as a data team member for specific projects (e.g. supporter data enhancement, assisting in the project management of supporter database migration).

  7. Managing relationships with external suppliers and agencies to deliver and receive data

  8. Performing other duties as assigned

Required skills and experience:

  • Analytical and problem solving skills

  • Knowledge of HTM, CSS, Google Analytics and email marketing software

  • Deep understanding of online analytics and statistics. Experience with statistical software preferred.

  • Knowledge of environmental issues and the environmental sector.

  • Understanding of database marketing and ability to analyze and evaluate web and campaign statistics.

  • Commitment to fostering a culture of excellence and innovation by actively sharing knowledge and striving for continuous improvement

  • Exceptional organizational, administrative and time management skills

  • Strong quantitative reasoning, evaluation, and research skills

  • Great communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas in simple terms

  • Understanding of branding, online design and usability issues

  • Fluency in French will be considered an asset

You will work with colleagues in Canada and around the world. Some international and national travel may be required. The ability to work weekends and evenings is sometimes required.
