Description

WindEurope is seeking a Data Specialist to support the analysis of market, industry and technology trends, as well as their visualisation using digital platforms and tools. 

Main Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively with business analysts to streamline data collection processes, increase automation and lead the centralisation of independent databases.
  • Lead and manage the team efforts on the development and maintenance of data visualisation tools. 
  • Collect data and technical information on the technology and market trends in the energy sector in order to develop consistent and irrefutable arguments aimed at effectively implementing WindEurope strategy; 
  • Support the team strategy on the purchasing of external databases and subscriptions; 
  • Perform desk research and coordinate surveys among experts to create digital material on markets, wind energy research and innovation trends;
  • Work in close collaboration with external experts from industry, WindEurope members, national associations and other stakeholders; 

Required Qualifications: 

Education:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, other science degrees will be considered. Equivalent work experience is also acceptable for this position.
  • Candidates with experience of working in the energy sector will be prioritised 

Experience:

At least 2 years of relevant, data related business experience. The candidate should have a clear understanding of how to draw and interpret market trends from analysis of raw information and data. A suitable candidate will require skills in the use of SQL and other database software, advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and have experience working with data mining techniques and database structures.

A candidate for this position will also require strong programming skills and experience working with Python, Open source and visualization tools. 

Excellent computer skills including proficiency in the use of Ms Word, PowerPoint and Outlook will be necessary for the creation of both visually and verbally engaging reports and presentations. 

Analytical skills:

  • Proven analytical and numerical skills; 
  • Computer literate (MS Excel, Outlook, website management, internet search engines) 
  • Advance programming languages like visual basic, html, python, 
  • Fluent in the use of SQL database
  • Additional software and modelling tools are an asset
  • Knowledge of existing data visualisation platforms is an asset
