(http://www.remsainc.com) is seeking experienced, highly motivated, and results oriented Data Entry Personnel to fill positions in Long Island (East Hampton), NY.  Candidates should be familiar with the fisheries’ data collection and reporting procedures and systems set forth by NOAA’s NMFS for the Northeast US region.  Prior experience performing data entry and management tasks is essential.  We are looking for team players who can work independently with minimal supervision towards meeting team goals and objectives.   JOB DESCRIPTION:The incumbent will serve in a project support role onsite for our client.  The position is in support of initiatives currently in place to monitor and report on the fish stocks of several commercially important species as well as to monitor the fishing industry as a whole in the Northeastern US.  The team achieves these goals by gathering and reporting data obtained from fishing vessels.  The Data Reporting Team is responsible for translating data collected in the field into specialized databases used to generate a variety of reports.  Duties in this role include, but are not limited to the following: •Receive and process incoming mail; open, sort, organize, and distribute to the proper parties on a daily basis and in a timely fashion •Inspection of all field reports prior to processing data to ensure the reporting process protocol has been followed and that forms are complete and legible•Preparation and sorting of forms into data entry batches                                                                              •Providing responses to requests for information and supplies in an efficient manner and according to protocols, processing outgoing mail•Scan all data sheets into computer system in an efficient and systematic way for use to manually translate data into database                                                •Manually input the desired parameters into database in an efficient manner being careful that translation from the original form is accurate •Audit data entered to ensure accuracy and completeness REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to pass a background screening in order to receive security clearance due to the sensitive nature of this position.Must be a U.S. citizenEducation: Minimum: Associate’s Degree or certificate from an accredited program (Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in fisheries science or related field).   Relevant experience can substitute for education.                Experience: 1-2 years in a similar role processing a high volume of dataSkills:               Prior experience working with CYGNET and knowledge of Oracle based platforms, such as SQL is highly desirable              Time Management, multi-tasking, and prioritization skills are imperative                                          Ability to meet/exceed tight deadlines                                                                                                    Knowledge of computer database programs is required                                        Proficiency and speed in data entry/typing skills are required              Ability to use scanning equipment and other office equipment is required                                        Ability to learn and follow very precise protocols in order to complete job functions is a must              Knowledge of fishing industry including equipment used and marine species is desirable              Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both written and oral                 Attention to detail               Professional appearance and demeanor                              Ability to audit data and provide QC as needed              Flexibility to take on a variety of tasks based on the workload and needs of the team                                 Benefits: Full time position with a competitive salary based on experience.  Benefits include: health, dental, life & disability insurance, vacation and sick leave accrual, 401K, great work schedule with Federal Holidays off APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS:***Incomplete packages will not be considered***In your resume, be sure to include all relevant experience, education, and skills.
