CDP is looking for a strong analyst with prototyping skills to help build our nascent product innovation capability. The successful applicant will bring strong data analysis skills and web development experience to CDP, enabling us to develop, build, and launch new data products that deliver on our mission and generate revenue. CDP’s rich data set contains self-reported environmental data from over 5,000 of the world’s largest companies and cities, with applications for a wide variety of businesses and NGOs.
Key responsibilities
- Analyze CDP data to create high impact and monetizable information;
- Prepare data to support CDP reporter services, cities, supply chain, water and forests business intelligence solutions;
- Assist other parts of CDP to maximize insight and value from data;
- Design and build prototypes of potential data-based products and assist program teams in launching them;
- Locate and incorporate external data sets that will enhance CDP’s own data;
- Work with developer team to build products that require significant development;
- Work with IT BI team to support existing BI solutions; and
- Work with the Director, Data Product Innovation to design business processes to support new products.
Key requirements
- University degree in a relevant subject;
- 1 – 4 years of professional experience analyzing, managing, and manipulating data;
- Advanced Excel;
- Strong knowledge of T-SQL;
- Understanding of business intelligence solutions (e.g. Tableau, Zoho, MS BI stack);
- Experience with web development frameworks, e.g. PHP and/or Java and other tools that may be relevant for prototyping;
- Knowledge of best practice in data management;
- Good analytical skills;
- Familiarity with XML, HTML/CSS a plus; and
- A passion for creating new data products that help address climate change and other environmental problems.
This role reports to our Director, Cities and Data Product Innovation and is located at our offices in Farringdon, Central London, although some home working may be supported. Our data product innovation department maintains a creative, start-up atmosphere and hopes to grow quickly by demonstrating early success. The candidate will be expected to work full-time.
