Natural Power continues to grow and we are offering a unique opportunity for a highly-motivated student on a gap year or year in industry placement to work in a dynamic, cutting edge industry as a Data Analyst within our ZephIR team, based near Ledbury, Worcestershire. ZephIR is a revolutionary laser anemometer that provides accurate, remote measurement of wind speed at distances up to 200m away. It is used in wind farm and siting studies and optimisation of wind turbine operation.
You will be mentored by the R&D Manager and team, and will benefit from working closely with our expert team of engineers, technicians and scientists. We are committed to your personal development and will provide continuous feedback and appraisal.
From day one you will work on real projects. You will be responsible for performing rigorous comparisons between data sets using correlation techniques to improve our understanding of wind speed data and develop new algorithms to improve the data processing. One of the tasks will be to prepare reports to clients. There will also be an opportunity to support the R&D activities of Natural Power. The role involves day to day use of Windographer, Excel and other bespoke software tools for the analysis of ZephIR installations, for which training will be provided.
