Description

CDP is seeking a highly motivated individual with experience and interest in data analysis, corporate climate change accounting and modelling to join CDP?s technical team. A key part of the role is to develop the CDP work on making its data sets clean, accurate, complete and of increased usability by investors and policy makers.

Key responsibilities

Work with CDP Technical Manager (Data) to define and implement procedures to ensure CDP data integrity and work on their constant improvement;
Proceed to the systematic identification and correction of data quality issues;
Identifying, getting, analyzing and extracting information from external sources, as well as proceeding to the register and identification of that information, as well as archive original data sources;
Develop and implement algorithms to estimate GHG emission data or other relevant data;
Perform multiple database operations;
Extract, transform and load CDP and other data sets from CDP data warehouse;
Developing programs for data analysis;
Determining delivery methods and information requirements and quickly responding to data analysis requests. Training other members to use reporting tools; and
Any other tasks as deemed appropriate by line manager.

Key requirements

2 years working experience;
IT skills, namely familiarity with standard programmes for data analysis such as Excel, SPSS, R, etc; experience with use of databases and knowledge of SQL is an advantage;
Ability to document its work to a high standard, maintain documentation, write reports and establishing procedures;
Keen interest on sustainability issues and use of data as a means to solve them and in particular of climate change and-or energy issues;
Knowledge of programming languages is an advantage;
Familiarity with modelling approaches namely in the frame of GHG national inventories, input-output models, econometric models, corporate inventories and/or other modelling approaches is an advantage;
Familiarity with GHG inventories with some previous experience in doing them is an advantage;
Analytical skills; and
Competent on spoken and written communication in English.

The successful candidate will report to the Technical Manager (Data) and work closely with several other internal teams in CDP. It will work 5 days per week.
