TITLE: Data Analysis Specialist - Ecology Education Programs

POSTING DATE: November 22, 2011

LOCATION: Millbrook, NY

PURPOSE: Organize and help analyze data from Cary Institute Ecosystem Literacy Initiative programs.

DURATION: Three month initial appointment with the possibility of continuation based on performance and fund availability. Hours flexible.

DUTIES: Establish secure and accessible databases for data about participants in the Cary Institute’s Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) and K-12 ecology teaching and learning programs. Help analyze data and produce reports for proposals, presentations and publications. Organize and convert existing data to new databases. Complete metadata and other documentation for all data sets. Establish protocols for data entry, access and archival storage.

QUALIFICATIONS: Training and experience in data organization and analysis required, with database management experience a plus. Bachelor’s degree (Masters preferred) in ecology, education, statistics or related field. Excellent computer, quantitative and organizational skills. Ability to work independently.
