Title: Community Researcher

Status: Fixed term for 3 months (24 hours per month)

Salary: £9.30 per hour (Real Living Wage)

Location: Cumbernauld

For over 50 years, the Scottish Wildlife Trust has worked with its members, partners and supporters in pursuit of its vision of healthy, resilient ecosystems across Scotland’s land and seas. The Trust successfully champions the cause of wildlife through policy and campaigning work, demonstrates best practice through practical conservation and innovative partnerships, and inspires people to take positive action through its education and engagement activities. The Trust manages a network of 119 wildlife reserves across Scotland and is a member of the UK-wide Wildlife Trusts movement.

We are currently recruiting for the role of Community Researcher to join our Cumbernauld Living Landscape team. This role will involve carrying out interviews with local community groups and members in Cumbernauld to learn about their experiences of greenspaces and their interaction with the project to support our monitoring and evaluation strategy.

Full training will be provided on how to carry out interviews professionally and with confidence. Successful applicants will also receive on-going support from the Cumbernauld Living Landscape team, including our partners at the James Hutton Institute. These positions will be salaried at Real Living Wage, 6 hours per week for 3 months.

The successful candidate will have strong communication skills and enjoy building relationships with members of the community. We’re not looking for a specific employment background – if you have an interest in people and communities, this could be the role for you.
