This is an exciting opportunity for a progressive CSR/Carbon Management Consultant to join a UK based firm that delivers excellence in audit, tax and consulting with hundreds of offices in 70 countries. With such a strong client base the firm as decided to develop an environmental consultancy offering that delivers the following services:
- Carbon Management
- Energy and Carbon Compliance
- Environmental Management
- Sustainability
The aim is to develop a wide range of high profile sustainability related projects in the UK. The role will be a link between the Internal Audit service which will be ensuring compliance by the firm’s 700 public sector clients with requirements of CSR and carbon management, with the need of those clients for additional advisory services. The consultant will therefore have to be comfortable in working with the Internal Audit team, advising on the compliance aspects as well as an ability to develop, deliver and lead consultancy assignments.
The individual will need to propose specialisms, however the company is particularly interested in social accounting and risk management as there would be strong links with its role as Internal Auditor to the clients referred to above.
The position requires a degree level qualification in environmental management or related discipline. You will also have relevant experience helping organisations in the services identified above.
Typical aspects of experience should include:
-Delivering sustainability strategies
-Environmental and Sustainability Assessments
-Sustainability Appraisals and Environmental Impact Assessments
-Delivering reviews on the efficient use of natural resources, environmental quality and enhancement, pollution control etc
-Environmental social issues - quality of life, health and wellbeing, education, inclusion, safety and security, community facilities
-Economic issues - employment, economic and commercial viability, logistics and communications infrastructure, whole life costing etc.
A Working knowledge of environmental and sustainability legislation including:
-Carbon footprint & Benchmarking
-Carbon Management solutions
-Carbon Reduction Commitment (CRC)
-Carbon trust standards
-Energy monitoring and standards
-Energy Measurement and solutions
-ISO 14001
-Energy performance certificates (EPC)
-Renewable energy calculations;

This is a permanent position subject to an initial three month probationary period. The post will be a national role with extensive travel and will suit an individual with either previous business development expertise or a clear interest and drive to contribute in this way.
