Description

Based Cumbernauld.

The Creating Natural Connections project has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated person to take up a traineeship through this inspiring community project.  Here you will learn how to work with young people in schools and the local community, helping them to engage with their local natural environment that can support their health, wellbeing and enjoyment of their local surroundings.

With the Project Officer, the Trainee will promote and deliver exciting and creative environmental workshops, and lead practical outdoor activities such as tree and hedge-planting, creating wildflower meadows and removing invasive species.

We’re looking for applications from candidates educated to NAT4/5 level, and who have a passion for the natural environment.  They will have excellent communication skills and the ability to motivate and inspire young people.  An understanding of health and safety, safeguarding and the local environment will be an advantage.

Also, as our Trainee you will have the opportunity to be trained in a variety of valuable conservation skills such as woodland creation and management and gain accredited certificates in activities such as brushcutter and chainsaw use.
