Would you like to be integral to improving Dartford’s Biodiversity? Would you like to help improve and restore some of the rarest habitats in Kent? Are you a good team player, with a great sense of humour and work ethic, then this role might be for you?

We are seeking to recruit a Countryside Ranger to work within a small team, to be a first point of contact for customers, contractors and partnership officers in Dartford’s Greenspaces. To actively participate with the daily maintenance, health and safety, help deliver and organise events, supervise conservation volunteers and community payback in their delivery of practical tasks. To help Dartford Borough Council improve biodiversity by restoring and improving a wide range of habitats from lowland heathland, SSSI Chalk grassland and SSSI Ancient woodland, amongst a range of other interesting habitats.

This role is ideal if you have a passion for wildlife and conservation, as well as engaging with members of the public to help increase ownership of their Greenspaces. We will help you to develop a broad knowledge of working within the industry, and gain many practical skills.

You will need good IT skills, be well organised, a good communicator and be customer focused. You will also need a flexible approach to working, and you will be expected to develop your practical skills and to have a 'hands-on' approach to the diverse working day in all weathers. To be a competent user of hand/ power tools and equipment.

This role requires a full and clean driving licence, and experience in practical conservation/land management.

37 hours per week. Monday – Friday. Flexi-time available. Free Parking.
