As part of our team of Rangers, you'll be working across the Western Area of East Sussex, primarily responsible for Chailey Common Local Nature Reserve, a lovely area of SSSI heathland with some existing grazing and a larger grazing scheme proposed. A variety of practical tasks will be involved, including heathland, wetland and meadow management as well as path maintenance, so you'll need to be able to use hand and power tools. With good interpersonal skills and the ability to plan work using IT programmes, we'll look to you to carry out site surveys and interpret and implement site management plans. With an understanding of health & safety procedures, you'll also need a full driving licence and a chainsaw certificate (NPTC units for felling).
