Description

The Water POrT project focuses on promoting and enhancing sustainable use of regional water resources in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. It offers a platform for building skills and transfer of knowledge on integrated water resources management, dialog and adaptation to climate change, by embracing water authorities at national level and a broad selection of stakeholder This will be achieved through the following results: (i) introduced methodological capacity building and reinforcement of skills of respective national authorities; (ii) promoted framework for common understanding among water practitioners and stakeholders; and (iii) strengthened abilities of practitioners to deal with the impacts of climate change on water resources.

 

Description of tasks:

-       Facilitate communication between WATER POrT project teal and various stakeholders, International and Regional organisations active in Tunisia, and relevant Projects and initiatives, securing a smooth progress of work;

-       Desk research and information processing;

-       Recognizance trips and interviews;

-       Translation of documents up to max 3 pages;

-       Reporting in English and Arabic/French;

-       Assistance in preparing project documents and organizing project events

 

Envisaged workload and duration of the assignment:

Estimated 100 workdays during 12 months time period

 

Education required: Bachelor degree in water management, environmental sciences, international relations, or another relevant field.

 

Functional knowledge and abilities:

-       0 - 5 years of professional experience in specified fields.

-       Good interpersonal skills and analytical capabilities

-       Understanding of regional and national circumstances concerning water management issues is an asset

-       Interest in global and national water initiatives and development trends.

-       Subject matter expertise in public participation, decision making and activities related to environmental and water issues is an asset

 

Skills required:

-       Fluency in both written and spoken English and Arabic/French language

-       Ability to work in and cooperate with a multi-ethnic international team

-       Ability to work in a flexible manner and to meet tight deadlines

-       Computer literacy.
