Description

Eastleigh Borough Council is an ambitious and progressive council. We are recognised for our innovation and achievements, whilst delivering high quality services to our customers and the community.

We are seeking passionate, motivated individuals to join the Country Parks Team to help deliver a safe and enjoyable customer experience across our two Country Parks, Itchen Valley & Lakeside. You will help maintain and improve the standards of all infrastructure in the parks, providing information and assistance to visitors and helping to both co-ordinate and lead volunteer groups in a variety of access and conservation based tasks.

With a love of the outdoors and a passion for ensuring that our parks are presented in first class order, you will be practical in nature and be comfortable with the safe use of an array of grounds maintenance tools. You will support in the inspection and maintenance of play areas, litter picking, path laying and fencing/bench repair, along with a variety of vegetation management. Having a good level of education and/or relevant experience along with a driving licence and own transport; it would be beneficial if you held an NVQ or similar qualification in a related field and a First Aid qualification. Your role will involve working with customers so experience in a customer service role in Country Parks or other visitor attractions is highly desirable.

You will be part of a wider team and will occasionally cover the information desk; providing information, support and first aid when needed. The country park team delivers a number of events across the year and where necessary you will help ensure these events are successful and enjoyed by all.

If you are excited by this opportunity and feel you have the skills, experience and attitude we would love to hear from you. EBC are committed to supporting and developing all our staff and creating a culture that is inclusive, innovative and enjoyable. We offer a good range of benefits and facilities and support our staff in maintaining a good work life balance through our innovative flexi time system.

22- 27 days annual leave (dependent on local government service)
Flexible working arrangements
Defined Benefit Pension Scheme
Confidential Employee Advice and Support Programme
Support for continuous professional development
Good work life balance
