FOUR PAWS is an international animal welfare organization with headquarters in Vienna, Austria, and has offices in 10 other countries. Founded in 1988, the organization pleads for animal welfare through sustainable campaigns and projects. FOUR PAWS focuses on animals that are directly under human influence, for example stray dogs and stray cats, laboratory animals, farm animals, wild animals and companion animals kept in inappropriate housing. FOUR PAWS aims to help animals in need directly and quickly.

FOUR PAWS is searching for a positive thinking personality with great affinity to animal welfare as soon as possible:

COUNTRY MANAGER NETHERLANDS

Fulltime / Amsterdam

Main duties:

• Translating effectively the international priorities into national realities based on national development plans and annual strategy plans
• Ambitious and realistic implementation of international annual program including national specifications and proper resource planning
• Leading the local office including supervising the national team and ensuring an agile culture along the FOUR PAWS values as well as mobilizing and inspiring the local team on deeply focused innovation capacity
• Representing FOUR PAWS and connecting to external stakeholders in order to increase the local perception in the country and to develop new fundraising fields (major giving, legacy, corporate fundraising)
• Being responsible for a constructive and trustful cooperation between local and international interests

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in the field of managing a local office of an international organization including financial responsibility, preferably in a non-profit organization
• Proven strategic planning, team leadership and reporting skills, references appreciated
• Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
• Very good knowledge of the local market, especially in the field of NGOs
• Great affinity to animal welfare and FOUR PAWS values and issues
• Extra-ordinary high social competence and effective people management
• Dedication to manage a local office with passion to inspire the local team
• Exceptional solution and goal orientation, highly motivated and stress-resistant, open-minded and initiative, reliable and balanced-driven, confident appearance, transparent and open personality
• Willingness and ability to travel abroad
