Description

We are the largest water only supply company in the United Kingdom.  Everyday we deliver 900 million of litres of safe, high quality drinking water to 3.6 million customers in parts of North West London and the Home Counties.

Our vision is to be the UK’s leading community focused water company. To achieve this, it is important that our customers understand the value of water, reduce consumption, and support ongoing protection of the environment.   This vision sets us apart in our industry and reflects the importance we place on our people working within and for the communities of customers we serve. By understanding and responding to the needs of different community groups, we are accountable to them at a local level for how well we provide our services. Dividing our supply area in eight communities named after local rivers, allows us to tailor a high-quality service to customers at a local level.

The Corporate Social Responsibility Manager is a member of the Affinity Water team you will play a key role in continuing to provide leadership and expertise on corporate and social responsibility issue. You will help develop and embed integrated thinking within business process and demonstrate added social and environmental value in our local communities.  Building on the great work that has been done already, you will be encouraged to push the boundaries further, bringing your own ideas and excitement to lead internal and external engagement on community activities and help affect culture change, what we describe as ‘The Affinity Way’.

We invest in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths career paths from school level upwards.  We have an Education Centre that teaches around 8,000 children a year about water.  We protect rivers and habitats through biodiversity programmes and we engage with our communities through local events and fundraising activities.  We hope you agree that it is an impressive list, which is down to the passion, support and dedication we receive from our people, helping us to achieve our vision.

Whilst you will be experienced and knowledgeable in addressing current social and environmental challenges, you’ll also have experience of taking this to the next level.  We are particularly keen to show the total value of our community initiatives through the use of Social Return on Investment (SROI) and Integrated Reporting. Knowledge of SROI assessments and demonstrating value added across the six capitals are essential to succeed in this role. It’s an exciting time to join Affinity Water in such a key role as this one.
