Responsibilities
Under the overall supervision and guidance of the Director of the Climate Change Support Team, the incumbent formulates and manages the implementation of the work programme of the High-level Advisory Group of the Secretary-General on Climate Change Financing (hereafter referred to as “the Group”), and to that end coordinates support to the Group’s members ensuring the smooth day-to-day functioning of the Group and its support mechanisms, liaises with relevant organizations and individuals within and outside the UN system, as appropriate, and ensures timely delivery of outputs. In particular, the Coordinator: Provides advice on the development of a strategic vision and policy with respect to the Group’s work to the CCST Director, other senior officials in EOSG, senior associates of the Group members, and the Group members themselves, as appropriate; Identifies key issues that fall under the Group’s purview and coordinates the preparation of background papers for use by the Group in its deliberations; Is responsible for the preparation of the Group’s final report, including the Group’s recommendations; Keeps regularly informed of progress in the work of the Group the Director and other senior UN officials, as appropriate; Coordinates substantive and administrative support to the Group, including the substantive and logistical preparation of its meetings, using the resources specifically earmarked for that and drawing on additional resources available within CCST, EOSG, the Secretariat and the broader UN system, as necessary; Identifies strategic opportunities for synergies between the work of the Group and that carried out by other organizations and individuals from the public and private sector; Coordinates outreach activities on behalf of the Group, occasionally acting as Spokesperson for the Panel, as appropriate; Acts as officer-in-charge when the CCST Director and Deputy Director are unavailable; Liaises with Member States (Ministers, Permanent Representatives and other high-level officials), representatives of civil society, academia and the private sector, as well as senior UN system colleagues on issues related to the work of the Group; Assists in fund-raising efforts from interested Member States as well as from private sector sources in support of the work of the Group.

Competencies
Professionalism - substantive knowledge of developing financing, with a good understanding of international processes, climate change and broader sustainable development issues.
