An opportunity has arisen for a part time short term contract with SNIFFER to provide the secretariat function in support of the Northern Ireland Climate Change Impacts Partnership (NICCIP). The post is currently to end March 2012 on the basis of approximately 1 day per week. The post will be based in Northern Ireland but working closely with SNIFFER’s programme managers in Edinburgh. SNIFFER will also welcome applications from consultants and those interested in a secondment opportunity. The successful applicant will be self-motivated, able to adopt a structured approach, demonstrate the ability to work in partnership with a range of organisations and have a track record of using networking skills to build productive relationships. Awareness of NICCIP and the climate change adaptation agenda would be an advantage. For this position you will be degree qualified in a relevant subject and have experience of working at the policy/science interface and have good knowledge of government working practice. Travel within Northern Ireland and occasional visits to Edinburgh will be a key requirement of this post.
