Coordinator, Metrics and Marine Climate Change

Description

The Coordinator, Metrics and Marine Climate Change, will provide day-to-day support functions for the Metrics (50%) and Marine Climate Change (50%) initiatives. The Coordinator will: develop and maintain communications materials, including the projects websites, and other reports and communication documents on project activities and outcomes; provide research support; provide administrative and logistical support for preparing donor reports; and with organizing regular meetings of the project teams and workshops with external partners.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Administrative and logistical support ~  organize meetings and workshops; arrange travel; prepare presentations; maintain Metrics records and documents; assist other team members with logistical arrangements
  • Coordinate the preparation including editing, formatting and compiling, of regular reports to donors and other partners; liaise with and assist the field teams on issues where appropriate.
  • Develop and maintain communication/fundraising materials and tools, including factsheets, website content, blogs. Maintain and update the Blue Carbon Initiative website.
  • Research support ~ provide weekly updates on relevant scientific literature; maintain the publications database; and undertake one-off research / literature review tasks

Working Conditions

  • This position is based in CI Headquarters in Arlington, VA
  • Normal office environment

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • Minimum of 2 years related work experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, MSWord and Power Point and Google Apps
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a complex environment with multiple tasks, short deadlines and intense pressure to perform
  • Proficiency in writing and editing reports and documents
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Experience working in cooperation with colleagues who represent a wide range of interests, cultures and needs

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Demonstrated interest in conservation
  • Experience working in developing countries
  • Understanding of the scientific research process, experience with scientific literature search
  • Basic website editing and desktop publishing, experience with WordPress
  • Fluency in Spanish, French, Portuguese, Bahasa Indonesia or Tagalog
