Salary: £24,000 per annum
3 year contract | based in East London

Thames21 is the leading environmental charity for London's network of waterways. This small, dynamic and rapidly developing charity is looking for an enthusiastic and committed individual to manage a new project in East London.

Through this project, Thames21 aims to engage and bring together local communities in East London in protecting and improving, using and benefiting from the waterways. This will be delivered through a range of complementary practical initiatives which provide opportunities for schools, youth clubs, community groups, businesses and individuals living in the area. The East London boroughs of Newham and Tower Hamlets are a network of waterways with the potential to be a huge asset, providing
community focus and vital open green spaces.

Applicants should have:
" A degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant subject
" Interest and knowledge of waterway and environmental issues
" Experience of supervising and coordinating volunteers
" Demonstrable experience of practical delivery of projects involving community consultation and participation
" Willing to undertake practical, outside work with volunteers in all weathers
" Experience of reporting project outputs
" Confident IT skills
" Excellent verbal communication skills
" Ability to rapidly assimilate and retain up-to-date knowledge of Thames21, its projects and programmes
