New opportunities for Controls Specialists to support Ameresco’s control system development, commissioning and operations at renewable biogas power plants throughout the US.  These positions will be based out of Charlotte, NC, Framingham, MA, Portland, ME, and Greenville, SC.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist with new plant detailed design, develop I/O lists from P&ID diagrams, select & purchase instrumentation.
Monitor control and instrumentation electrical installation during plant construction phase.
Perform loop checks and troubleshoot field instrumentation and electrical equipment during plant startup & commissioning phase.
Provide support to the Operations team with instrumentation preventative maintenance, calibration checks, and basic instrumentation and control systems troubleshooting.
Review electrical design drawings and documents issued by Project Engineer of Record to ensure consistency with Ameresco design standards and vendor documentation.
Partner with Construction Management and site electrical contractors to ensure consistency with plant design and specification documents.
Track and document site electrical construction progress and issue completion status reports during construction.
Maintain electrical as-built “red-line” prints to document field changes during construction.
Ensure compliance with company, industry, trade, regulatory and jurisdictional safety standards, practices, codes.
Perform other duties as required.

REQUIREMENTS:
Technical Degree or equivalent work experience with emphasis on plant instrumentation and controls hardware preferred.
Minimum 3 to 5 years industrial automation, instrumentation, and controls systems experience commissioning and troubleshooting Allen-Bradley programmable logic controllers (PLC’s)
Renewable energy power plant engineering, construction, operations experience desirable
Proficiency with AutoCAD 2D helpful.
Demonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative, and complete assignments
Excellent verbal, written, computer communication and technical presentation skills.
Valid Driver’s License in good standing, issued by resident state required.
U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Resident status required.
May require flexibility for ‘on call’ support or varied schedule needs
May be required to pass security clearance investigation.
Travel required.
