Terms of Reference for engaging Consultant (One) and Project Associates (Two) Advt. No. WII/DEAN-FWS/NBSAP/130/2013 Revision of the National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan (NBSAP) Terms of Reference for engaging Consultant (One) and Project Associates (Two) The Wildlife Institute of India (WII) has been assigned the responsibility by the Ministry of Environment & Forests (MoEF) and the National Biodiversity Authority (NBA) to undertake revision of the National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan (NBSAP). The National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan (NBSAP) preparation is an obligation on all countries that are a signatory to the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD). The NBSAP is a macro-level statement of existing policies and programmes, gaps, and further actions needed for conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity. India prepared the National Biodiversity Action Plan (NBAP) in 2008-09. The CBD has urged the countries to review, update and revise as appropriate their NBSAPs in accordance with the Strategic Plan for Biodiversity 2011-2020 and the Aichi Targets. The development and implementation of NBSAP is central to achieving the objectives of CBD at the national level. It is therefore proposed to update and revise India’s NBSAP so as to align our national targets with the Aichi Targets in consultation with various stakeholders. The Work Plan to be accomplished by the Technical Team of Consultant, Project Associates and WII faculty is given Annexure-I. The Institute wishes to engage competent professionals for providing assistance in the task of revision of the NBSAP. The engagement will initially be for a period of 6 months which may be extended for a further period of 4 months. The EQ, DQ, Emoluments, Age and Duty Station are given below:
Method of Engagement: All interested candidates should send their applications in the prescribed format (Annexure-II) along with their Bio-data electronically to the Dean, Wildlife Institute of India, Dehradun (vbm@wii.gov.in) on or before 21 May, 2013. The applications will be screened by a Screening Committee, the recommendations of which would be approved by Director, Wildlife Institute of India. |
