SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS

Oversee all site operations for specific SunEdison installations including contractor(s) -- Manages on site Mechanical and Electrical installation of complete photovoltaic systems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Management of contractors performing Solar project installations and leading project execution as the lead on site representative. Insure work conforms to plan specifications, codes, and SE standards.
  •  Management and planning of Day-to Day operations on the site 
  • Assist in preparation of project budget, schedules and bid package plans and specifications. 
  • Assist in Contract Administration -- maintain Request for Information (RFI) log; Contractor Submittal logs and Change Order Request (COR) logs. 
  • Assists / coordinates with the SunEdison Project Engineer for maintenance of project plans and specifications – on site document control 
  • Responsible for coordination of material deliveries and logistics. Including, inspection and confirmation of correct quantities and BOL acknowledgement – noting any damage, shortages and or returns of overages. 
  • Responsible for the maintenance of periodic construction progress reports and provide status reports to Director of Construction and Program Managers. 
  • Responsible for Quality Control program and coordinating field testing and inspection services 
  • Provide preliminary review and approval of contractor’s progress payment applications. 
  • Provide on-site supervision including - proper layout, installation, and commissioning of system. 
  • Insure proper inspection process is performed and obtain necessary documentation with Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) and Utility Company. This must be done on schedule and within SE quality control requirements. 
  • Assist in negotiating pricing and or request proposals from subs. 
  • Responsible for all closeout documents related to project including red lines, pictures and commissioning documents. These are to be complete and accurate. 
  • Provide feedback -- Value Engineering and Innovative ideas -- during and at the completion of jobs to make projects more efficient, reduce costs and improve quality and reliability. 
  • Make sure that all work on site is performed safely and meets both OSHA and SE requirements. 
  • Other specific project duties as assigned. 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have a minimum of 5 years experience in construction industry. Minimum of 3 years experience as foreman or manager supervising 5 individuals or more. • Strong knowledge of building code and inspection processes. 
  • Must be able to read and interpret plans accurately. Experience with RFI process and ability to transfer plans into actual construction. 
  • Strong organizational skills to manage the activities required in the installation of large commercial electrical systems. 
  • Must be computer proficient. Good working knowledge of MS Office 2007 programs, specifically Word, Excel and Project. Able to accurately complete and provide reporting documents as needed. 
  • Proven managerial skills including; employee development, leadership, prioritization, communication, and motivation. 
  • Frequent regional travel (up to 90%) to attend assigned construction sites. 
  • Experience with civil, light structural and Electrical installation a plus. 

WORKING CONDITIONS

Ability to communicate orally with management and other co-workers is crucial. Regular use of the telephone and e-mail for communication is essential. Sitting for extended periods of driving and or office work is common. Hearing and vision within normal ranges is helpful for normal conversations, to receive ordinary information and to prepare or inspect documents. Heavy lifting may be required. Exertion of up to 75 lbs of force occasionally may be required. Good manual dexterity for the use of common office equipment such as computer terminals, calculator, copiers, and FAX machines.
