Supervisor: Executive Vice President of Development

Will work closely with Vice President, RES Canada and Director of US Business Development/Estimating.

Description: The focus of this position will be to develop potential Canadian markets to meet RES Canada’s construction business development goals and strategy. The responsibility of the role will be to research, identify, analyze and secure profitable opportunities in wind, solar and transmission construction. The position also works closely with the Canadian development team on early engineering, acquisitions, alliances and partnerships.

Responsibilities:

1. Identify and develop opportunities for project construction in the renewable energy market space.
2. Raise the profile and awareness of RES construction services through marketing, networking, attendance at conferences, technical workshops, and etc.
3. Establish contacts and cultivate productive relationship with new and existing customers, subcontractors, design firms and partner companies. Manage customer relationships from pre-construction to project close out.
4. Lead RES’ response to client BOP construction bids in liaison with US HQ office.
5. Represent Company in community settings and in front of large landowner groups.
6. Create relationships with and maintain a network of subcontractors across different Canadian markets.
7. Manage preliminary site characterization, and coordinate with engineering and estimating functions on behalf of RES Canada development and construction clients.
8. Support Canadian construction team as needed.
9. Act as the Company’s official representative on various construction licenses and etc.
10. Identify business opportunities and help form relationships with key utilities and other potential clients within a region.
11. Work closely with marketing, sales and development teams to implement business development initiatives.
12. Understand contract terms and have the ability to recognize discrepancies.
13. Work with finance team to assess viability of emerging opportunities.
14. Familiarity with and the ability to stay current regarding changing regulatory requirements and industrial best practices.

Requirements:

1. Five-plus (5+) years of experience in the construction industry. Will serve as an informal leader for less-experienced members of the team.
2. Able to successfully manage the full-spectrum of core responsibilities independently or with limited over-sight, and consistently solve complex problems to move the development process forward at any given stage (land acquisition-financial closing).
3. Need expertise and the necessary skills to interface with the Client and will be instrumental in taking projects from prospect to contract award.
4. ABILITY TO TRAVEL, based in the Montreal, Quebec office.
5. Skilled in MSOffice and Outlook.
6. Must be physically capable of operating a vehicle safely, possess an appropriate valid driver's license, possess personal insurance coverage, and have an acceptable driving record.
7. Bilingual in both English and French preferred.

Education: BS/BA Business, Engineering, or related field.
