Call for Proposals

The Aus Community Conservation Trust (ACCT) was founded in 2001 as a non governmental organisation. The ACCT drives the natural resource management of the Aus townlands as part of the national goal towards the protection of ecologically sensitive areas such as the Succulent Karoo. The ACCT uses conservation and the sustainable use of natural resources as means to develop the Aus community.

Objectives of the Assignment

The Namibia Nature Foundation (NNF) under the guidance of the United Nation Development Programme Small Grant Programme Steering Committee with funding from the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) through Conservation International (CI) has provided approved funding for the ACCT to develop two hiking trails, and seek consultants to implement this.

The objectives of the assignment are to:

  • Assist the ACCT in the development of information materials for the hiking trails, including the signage and information boards for the hiking trail and a booklet detailing the history, culture, fauna and flora of the area including maps for the hiking trails.
  • Construct two hiking trails including resting places and laying of stones as proposed in the feasibility study

Requirements

  • The consulting team should comprise of a person with a first degree in environment or tourism related studies and another individual with a construction background.
  • The team must have experiences in the production of tourism information packages, trail design and construction.
