Description

Founded in 1903, Fauna & Flora International (FFI) is the world’s longest established international conservation organisation. Our vision is to create a sustainable future for the planet where biodiversity is conserved by the people living closest to it. We aim to do this through the conservation of threatened species and ecosystems worldwide, choosing solutions that are sustainable, based on sound science and take account of human needs. We have become a trusted entity in the world of conservation. Today FFI is active in over 40 countries.

FFI is seeking a Conservation Technology Specialist to join the Conservation Capacity & Leadership team to provide expertise in the identification, design and delivery of technology projects and develop technology sector partnerships to build and strengthen our conservation impact. Leading technology company, Arm, is investing in the role to enable us to find ways to scale up conservation impact significantly through innovative use of technology. This position will provide oversight, technical expertise and support to existing projects as well as identify and deliver new technology activities.

You will have a proven track record in identifying and implementing technical solutions in austere or remote operating environments and be passionate about the potential that technology can offer conservation challenges. You will have an up-to-date knowledge and understanding of technology innovations and trends and be a confident networker, able to communicate ideas effectively to non-technical audiences, both verbally and in writing.  Ability to work on your own initiative is essential, as is the ability to work alongside others, in the design and delivery of projects and activities.

In return, the role offers the opportunity to work within a ground-breaking and entrepreneurial organisation, at the forefront of global conservation, with the opportunity to apply your skills and expertise to work that will deliver real conservation impact.

In addition, FFI offers a generous pension contribution, attractive annual leave allowance and life insurance. Our offices are located in The David Attenborough Building in central Cambridge, just a few minutes’ walk from glorious historic buildings and museums, the picturesque River Cam, the central market and shopping centre, and a host of cafés and restaurants.
