Description

Working with other staff to perform activities related to establishment, management and maintenance of habitat programs. Responsibilities may include:

  • General project maintenance activities
  • Wetland project operation and maintenance
  • Assisting staff with seeding and spraying activities
  • Data entry and other computer work
  • Assist construction and engineering staff with surveys and project repairs.
  • Assist with shop and equipment maintenance

Qualifications:

  • Full time post-secondary student planning on returning to classes full time in the fall of 2012
  • Students pursuing a career in agriculture, engineering, biology, plant ecology, environmental science or resource management preferred
  • Ability to work effectively with others in teams as well as with little supervision
  • This position involves physical work, ability to work outdoors and perform manual tasks
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Basic computer skills (GIS skills would be an asset)
  • ATV experience would be an asset
  • Knowledge of land management practices or farming background
  • Must be available for work between May and August, 2012

Details:

  • Expected term of employment is approximately 16 weeks
  • Salary is $15.00/hr based on a 35-hour week
