The Conservation GIS Interns are responsible for providing Science and GIS support for projects related to terrestrial and aquatic habitats and climate change impacts. The position involves supervised work with data compilation and analysis, database management, and literature review. Additionally, the intern will gain experience in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) especially with spatial data compilation, attribute data development, and some spatial analysis.  Specific duties of the Science Intern may include loading, converting, and projecting source data; standardizing attribute fields and values; clipping and merging geographic datasets for specific areas of interest; creating metadata, creating maps, and doing some overlay spatial analysis. The Science Intern will be mentored by other senior analysts and ecologists to ensure skill development.
