Description

The Student Conservation Association (SCA), a national force of youth conservation volunteers, has an exciting opportunity in our Program Department. The position is based in Arlington, Virginia.

America’s #1 youth conservation service organization seeks a qualified applicant who serves as a primary contact for SCA partners and a shared contact for programs in their assigned region by providing knowledge, solutions and guidance. Ensures quality responsiveness and seamless constituent experiences through interdepartmental communication and collaboration. This position ensures quality and consistency in member and partner support and retention while implementing Innovation Engineering (IE) guiding principles.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as primary customer service contact for partners in assigned region.
  • Educate partners on SCA - mission, programs, resources, processes, policies, etc.
  • Monitor compliance with AmeriCorps regulations and identity requirements in the field and seek opportunities to enhance awareness
  • Work with regional leadership to develop internship retention goals for each site and determining need for expansion or maintenance, aiming for 72% retention.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for a team-based account management process across departments (finance, program, etc.).
  • Conduct site visits based on need and funding, completing required documentation and follow-up.
  • Monitor agreement process and ensuring full use of funding with partner.
  • Monitor and communicate with partners regarding selection process.
  • Collaborate with and assist regional program staff with partner support for community, corps and high school programs.
  • Serve as a point of contact for all selected interns within assigned region and program(s) while ensuring quality customer service that meets SCA standards.
  • Assist interns in assigned region with all aspects of their service.
  • Collaborate with and assist regional program staff with members support for community, corps and high school programs.
  • Assist Program Quality department with development of handbooks, trainings and program materials.
  • Support Program Quality team with the implementation of trainings; instructs when requested
  • Serve as technology expert for partners, members and program staff when necessary; assisting with position request, MySCA questions, activity logs, and any other issues as needed.
  • Communicate and collaborate with other departments as needed to ensure consistency and accuracy of information.
  • Oversee intern account management from time of position submission to final reporting; includes providing estimates, ensuring agreement process is activated, funding is confirmed, reporting needs are defined, partner protocols and procedures are outlined and position approval.
  • Collaborate with and assist regional program staff with community, corps and high school account management.
  • Participate in incident response as needed.

  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date opportunity and project data and communications in MySCA
  • Ensure that all program activities follow SCA standard operating procedures as outlined in program handbooks
  • Complete project level reporting in accordance with reporting standards as directed by Program Quality
  • Ensure that each member within the program works within a safe environment, understands and adheres to SCA policy and procedure, and is being provided an opportunity for a positive member experience
  • Maintain current knowledge of all SCA programs
  • Foster an environment that promotes teamwork between SCA members, staff and site partners
  • Represent a positive and professional image of SCA
  • Understand and follow all policies and procedures as outlined in the SCA Employee Handbook, the Field Operation Standards, and the Emergency Response System handbook
  • Understand and model SCA’s Innovation Engineering (IE) Culture

Experience and Skills:

  • 3-5 years Customer Service experience; Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to develop and maintain relationships
  • Collaborative skills a must.
  • Strong MSOffice skills and strong working knowledge of databases
  • SalesForce experience a plus
  • Ability to learn and comprehend the complex fiscal and political factors influencing public land management.
  • Knowledge of natural and cultural resource management issues and knowledge of client agency cultures a plus.
  • Ability to work well as part of a team as well as independently.
  • Demonstrated experience in fast-paced environment and ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Valid driver’s license and driving record that meets SCA standards.
  • Must pass SCA criminal background check
  • Willingness to travel 10% of time to conduct site visits, attend partner functions, etc.
