The successful Conservation Practitioner applicant will apply knowledge and skills related to both wetland and upland restoration in rare southeast Michigan ecosystems with primary focus on fens and on oak barrens.  Under supervision of the Land Steward and Assistant Land Steward the Conservation Practitioner will assist TNC staff in the removal of non-native plant species, native seed collection and planting, participate in basic tasks in prescribed fire operations and monitoring the fire effects on both native and invasive species.

Although the majority of duties will be carried out in and around the River Raisin conservation areas (located near Tecumseh, MI), the applicant should expect to spend some time on other sites in southeast Michigan.
