The Conservation Practitioner provides expertise and support for the Program’s marine (and other) conservation projects, including but not limited to: sustainable fisheries, coral conservation and marine protected area initiatives; by implementing strategies to address critical threats to natural systems and individual species; fostering cross-site learning among the conservation community and coordinating local community support.

S/he coordinates multiple projects, by developing project packages, setting deadlines, managing project completion and maintaining project records.

S/he manages (collects, assembles and analyzes) conservation and various types of data, produces maps using GIS software and prepares technical reports.

S/he also participates in conservation planning and stakeholder meetings and conducts fisheries and coral monitoring and assessments, in the field or through document surveys, interviews with fishers, scientists and government representatives. Work will be conducted both in the field (scientific surveys, scuba diving, etc.) and will also be based in an office setting.
