Conservation Operations Manager, WCS South Sudan Program

Key Responsibilities
This is a full-time position responsible for coordination of overall WCS program support to field operations for protected area management
and wildlife conservation in South Sudan. Duties include working with the program management team to coordinate support and oversight of:
WCS logistics and related personnel to support field operations; contracting, implementation, and monitoring of protected area infrastructure
construction projects; international procurement, shipping, and country clearances; sound management and maintenance of vehicle fleet;
radio, and other IT/ communications systems establishment and maintenance; security program implementation and monitoring.

The role will also involve support to WCS aircraft management and assisting with proposal writing, reporting to donors, and organizing program meetings.
The position will be based in Juba with frequent travel to WCS field project sites in South Sudan. 
The Conservation Operations Manager reports to the WCS South Sudan Program Director 
  
Qualifications
The desired qualifications for this position are extensive professional experience with project field operations, logistical systems, procurement,
security protocol management, contracting construction in Africa and/or other remote regions and post-conflict areas and proven ability to
work with national and local organizations. A strong interest in wildlife conservation, wildlife law enforcement, natural resource management,
or related fields is an advantage. Proven ability to work well in a team in multi-cultural situations and under difficult field conditions is essential. 
Fluency in written and spoken English required and familiarity with languages and culture of South Sudan will be an advantage.
