Description

eference number: 7480313

Location: Carmarthenshire

We're looking for an experienced individual with excellent ecological knowledge, and the ability to identify habitat restoration opportunities in Carmarthenshire.

The RSPB is 'stepping up' to halt biodiversity loss by delivering a programme of landscape-scale conservation initiatives called Futurescapes. Habitat restoration is at its most effective when it is carefully targeted; our Futurescapes integrate our work with partners and communities to make a real difference in the face of a changing climate and continuing biodiversity loss.

The Three Rivers Futurescape covers a large area of Carmarthenshire, encompassing an impressive array of habitats, from sands dunes to wetlands, species rich grassland and internationally important marine areas. You will target wetland and grassland habitats in particular, bringing together knowledge from partners and landowners to plan and deliver favourable management for priority species and habitats.

You must be able to work with our community engagement officer and conservation team to support the development of successful collaborations with a range of partner organisations across Carmarthenshire, focusing on the Three Rivers estuaries, Llanelli and Gwendraeth valley. Landscape-scale conservation cannot be effective without integrated management and local support, and this post will be essential in focusing on the areas of greatest ecological opportunity.
