The Conservation Information Manager II manages and maintains conservation lands databases, facilitates the creation of Texas land acquisition project packages (resolution and map) and their approval process, and provides technical and informational support for the Nature Conservancy’s Conservation Land System (CLS), GIS or other relational database technologies to Conservancy staff. This may include one or more of the following functions:
- Collect information to create a project package and CLS records for each land acquisition project
- Assist Land Protection staff in composing project resolutions
- Manages the land acquisition project approval process ensuring proper levels of authority approval are received
- Ensure annual compliance monitoring reports are completed and recorded for all conservation easements and deed restrictions held by the Nature Conservancy in Texas.
- Create geospatial and relational data derived from cartographic, survey or tabular source material
- Produce maps and other graphic products and reports to support Conservancy operations
- Builds, maintains, and populates data and records databases and manual files
- Develops and maintains GIS library and/or database products library
- Performs data analysis and produces reports
- Provides hardware and software support
- Site visits to properties to determine conservation value
- Assists in producing environmental assessments and conservation easement documentation reports
- Trains staff on CLS and GIS related issues
