The GIS Analyst will contribute to the conservation team by completing GIS analyses, building sophisticated GIS models and developing web-based GIS tools to direct the conservation actions of The Nature Conservancy and partners. S/he will compile, manage, analyze, and distribute data and results that help identify priority areas for conservation and restoration of forest and freshwater ecosystems within Pennsylvania. Her/his technical analyses will support programmatic decisions about effective approaches to addressing current or anticipated impacts to ecosystems caused by land use, energy development, water management, loss of habitat connectivity, pollution, climate change, and invasive species. S/he will be conducting GIS analyses using the ArcGIS platform and will provide technical GIS support to TNC staff. This position is expected to lead development of web-based GIS tools to help prioritize conservation areas with partners including the U.S. Forest Service, National Park Service, and other state and federal agencies and non-government organizations.
