The Conservation Coordinator works in the Chattahoochee Fall Line (CFL) field office and provides administrative, project management and other general assistance to CFL staff working toward the achievement of protection, conservation and stewardship goals of the CFL conservation area, especially as related to the Army Compatible Use Buffer (ACUB) program at Fort Benning. Manage conservation data, participate in conservation planning, develop project packages, respond to landowner inquiries and maintain manual project records. Includes collecting, assembling and analyzing various types of data, in the field or through document surveys, producing maps using GIS software and assisting in the production of reports. Work will be conducted mostly in an office setting, but with some fieldwork as needed, compiling the information collected by others.
- Manages land protection spatial data
- Manages and reports on land protection statistics to stakeholders (funding and progress)
- Facilitates all land protection due diligence working closely with the Conservation Specialist and CFL Land Protection Manager
- Creates new and reviews land protection documents (e.g. option agreements, title work, environmental site assessments)
- Assists with conservation easement monitoring and completes annual reports
- Assists with land stewardship (e.g. security, prescribed fire, contractor coordination)
- Assists with management of ACUB Land Hunt Club Program
- Works with Grants Specialist to track funding requests
- Coordinates data needs for prioritizing land protection effort
- Records real estate documents as needed
- Assists natural resources management and conservation planning
- Coordinates various partners, volunteers and interns on conservation projects
- Assists CFL Program Director with CFL Conservation Partnership coordination
- Assists other conservation projects as needed or as time allows
