Conservation / Field Assistant:

Candidate Suitability:
•    Qualification: minimum requirement is 1st year Diploma Nature Conservation / Environmental Science / Wildlife Management, or BTec Nature Conservation; or at least a recognized certificate in an environmental field
•    Scope for further study BTec or MTec, M.Sc
•    Research and field work experience definitely an advantage;
•    Fluency in English and ideally Afrikaans (conversational) essential
•    Coversational Zulu, Shangaan or Sesotho would definitely be an advantage
•    Valid driver’s license is a requirement

Key Responsibilities:
•    Assisting the Lion Ecologist with lion tracking and monitoring; scientific research
•    Assisting the Wildlife Manager with all field related activities: habitat management, erosion control, farm maintenance, anti-poaching patrols, game capture. Exposure to international experts from all fields
•    Overseeing the work of 'scientific interns' participating in the project;
•    Facilitating scientific excursions with wildlife documentary film crews,
      scientific research teams, educational groups, investors, donors and sponsors
•    Assisting with enviro-educational and cultural programs
