Climate Change Capital ("CCC") www.climatechangecapital.comis a leading investment banking group specialising in the investment opportunities created by the low carbon economy. It advises and invests in companies who recognise that combating global warming is both a necessity and an economic opportunity. Its activities, which also include investment management and financing emission reductions, aim to make the world's environment cleaner while delivering attractive financial returns.

CCC operates three transactional teams:
  • Carbon Finance: develops and manages funds that invest in GHG reduction projects and their underlying assets, primarily in the developing world. The funds also invest in companies that provide technologies or services facilitating GHG reductions. The Climate Change Capital Carbon Funds have over €800 million under management.
  • Fund Management: Develops and manages funds that invest in companies, projects and technologies that provide products or services facilitating climate change mitigation or adaptation. Through the Ventus group of listed Venture Capital Trusts and The Climate Change Capital Private Equity Fund, CCC has in excess of €250 million under management for investing in clean technology, clean fuels and renewable energy.
  • Advisory: provides financial, strategic and policy advice to energy-intensive industries, financial institutions, clean technology companies and governments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the Compliance function to ensure that CCC complies with all Global requirements;
  • Working with the executive directors and senior management to improve their understanding of strategic and operational compliance;
  • Working with colleagues in both front office and support functions to identify and establish all requisite controls, policies and procedures;
  • Liaison with colleagues and regulators in various jurisdictions, and working with external consultants
  • Responsible for the enhancement of global compliance risk-based monitoring programmed;
  • Continuous advice across business functions including TCF, AML, and Financial Promotions;
  • Responsible for devising and implementing a comprehensive compliance policy and training manual
  • Ad-hoc training on key regulatory issues to all front office and support functions;
  • Responsible for maintaining a robust KYC process across all operating areas;
  • Increasing the profitability and value of the business through effective Compliance management and good business practice.

Key Competencies and qualifications include:

  • Suitable candidates will be educated to degree standard with postgraduate qualification or relevant experience.
  • Experience in a fund management, and or advisory, and or a private equity firm.
  • Full working knowledge of compliance and regulatory issues in relevant markets e.g. Europe and US.
  • Experience at a FSA regulated business in a compliance capacity gained within the context of coordinating compliance within a multi jurisdictional firm.
  • Highly-motivated, driven, and have the ability to deliver results in an autonomous capacity.
  • Disciplined and able to set and meet objectives;
  • Analytical and able to provide practical interpretation of regulations;
