Summary:  Next Step Living is a rapidly growing, venture-backed, residential energy efficiency company that is expanding geographically into CT. NSL is looking for someone to lead the outreach expansion for NSL in Connecticut.  The Community Outreach Coordinator will be responsible for identifying prospects for Next Step Living and its services through promotion to target populations. This is an exciting opportunity for a creative, high energy, hands-on professional to join a company with surging momentum and play a critical role in shaping the growth of the company in Connecticut. 

 

Responsibilities:

·         Support the implementation of multi-year energy efficiency outreach campaign in a designated portfolio of communities

·         Promote NSL activities and services and distribute educational materials to the community through various forms of face-to-face interaction

·         Assist in the design of paper and online outreach materials for each program

·         Assist in the creation and maintenance of relationships with institutions within municipalities such as faith-based groups, educational organizations, and local business for the purpose of generating interest for Next Step Living’s services among their members or constituents

·         Collect contact information from residents interested in receiving Next Step Living Home Energy Assessment at planned events or through street interactions in target communities

·         Meet daily, weekly and monthly targets for prospects collected

·         Identify appropriate canvassing locations by rating the residential solar potential of neighborhoods, streets and homes by using mapping software applications such as Pictometry and Google

·         Work with Boston-based Community Outreach team to refine messaging and strategy for maximum success of prospect collection

·         Enter collected contact information into Next Step Living customer relationship management software system

·         Frequent travel required to Next Step Living’s partner communities

·         Event attendance on nights and weekends required

·         May assist Customer Service Team when needed

 

Qualifications:

·         A High School and College Diploma

·         2+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

·         Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public; Spanish speaking a plus

·         Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists

·         Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

·         Working knowledge of MS Office products

·         The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
