AWF is seeking a highly motivated professional who will provide community mobilization support to AWF’s new Imatong Mountain and Watershed Conservation Project in South Sudan.
Responsibilities
- Mobilize participating communities in the Imatong project area
- Support implementation of community focused project outputs
- Ensure a regular flow of information to partners
- Liaise with AWF staff and partners on technical issues
- Help AWF GIS team with mapping: accompany them on site visits
- Secure maps from the Group Ranch and make sure consistent with AWF maps
- Provide follow up support on capacity building exercises in the established community groups
Qualifications
- Advanced Diploma or Bachelors degree in Community Development
- At least 3 years’ experience consistent with the above responsibilities
- Data Collection experience
- Community organizing experience
- Familiarity with South Sudan and experience in the country
- Demonstrated ability to build capacity of communities around the project area to engage in and ensure project objectives are implemented
- Genuine respect for the skills and perspectives of communities, partner organizations and the private sector
- Basic Computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite)
- Good Communication Skills
- Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and to prioritize them and to work with minimal supervision, and as part of a team
- Proficiency in both English and Arabic (spoken and written) is required
