Carsphairn Community Woodland Ltd. (CCW) is in the process of acquiring 48 ha of woodland near Carsphairn, Dumfries and Galloway on behalf of the local community with support from the Scottish Land Fund. This post is funded by the SLF for 1 year. We have an exciting range of projects in development including sustainable forest management, woodfuel operation, community recreation and tourism.
We are looking for a skilled and highly motivated individual to manage the site, implement the CCW Management Plan and develop the long-term sustainability of the woodland as a community asset. We require a person with relevant qualifications and demonstrable experience in forest management, excellent general organisational and management skills, experience of working with community-led organisations, a good attention to detail and a talent at problem solving.
Excellent communication skills and an ability to motivate and inspire others with a commitment to development at a local level are also required. Hours: 22.5 weekly Salary: £28,000 pro rata. Pension contribution in line with current legislation.
