The Zoological Society of London (ZSL), a charity founded in 1826, is a world-renowned centre of excellence for conservation science and applied conservation. Role Profile

The Douala-Edea Community Engagement Support Officer will be responsible for the VSLA and Community engagement aspects of Postcode Planet Trust projectThis position will be supporting the ongoing training and support of VSLA groups in Lake Ossa as well as the upscaling of VSLA initiatives in areas such as Tissongo and Siossio. Additionally, this position will work with team members to ensure smooth implementation of the Biodiversity and Net-works aspects of the project. The post will report to the Douala Edea Project Manager within Africa Programme of ZSL’s Conservation Programmes department. The post will work closely with colleagues in ZSL’s Africa team, the Marine and Freshwater International programme, and other ZSL departments as appropriate.  The position may also be required to provide some limited support to other ZSL-Cameroon initiatives based on the qualifications and expertise of the post holder.

Please note: This is a full-time, 1 year fixed-term contract, based in the field offices in Douala Edea Region of Cameroon. A high degree of flexibility is essential in situations where planned tasks are superseded by unscheduled events that require priority. This role may also require working some weekends
