We are looking to recruit an environmental enthusiast committed to working with communities across Wiltshire. This role will make a major contribution to the delivery of our Strategic Plan Objective ‘to lead and support the transition of society towards more sustainable living’ by developing, delivering and evaluating a formal and informal programme of events, incentives and other activities which encourage reducing waste, reusing products and recycling materials from households in Wiltshire.

The successful candidate will be able to maintain and develop close links with Wiltshire Council’s Waste Management Team to deliver the Waste Joint Venture, as well as the county’s waste and recycling contractor and other voluntary, private and public sector partners.

The Trust emphasises involving and engaging people in sustainability issues to encourage them to make informed decisions and change their behavior for the benefit of the environment. The post holder will influence the evolution of environmental education and waste practices and there is considerable scope to bring forward new ideas and initiatives.

This challenging role will require sound organisational skills, as well as the drive and energy to see a project through to deadline. The ability to manage resources effectively is essential. With at least 2 years relevant experience, you will need to be able to demonstrate effective communication and strong interpersonal skills along with proven experience delivering successful community led initiatives.

There will be some evening and weekend working required.
