 Wildlife Alliance is an international non-profit organization dedicated to protecting wildlife by assisting governments strengthen protected areas, combat illegal wildlife trade, increase public awareness to reduce demand, and provide alternative livelihoods for poachers and encroachers through sustainable agriculture assistance.

 

Community Based Ecotourism Project Manager

Based in Phnom Penh and Koh Kong province

QUALIFICATIONS

DUTIES

Community empowerment;

  • Analyze gaps and work to enable community self management of the CBET project 
  • Ensure community empowerment and participation in the CBET development process, initiate new and improve existing tourism products, services and activities, solve problems that may raise within the CBET committee and CBET project members

Business development;

  • Analyze gaps in project overall direction, tourism products, services and activity development.
  • Review CBET strategies, working and monitoring procedures and support CBET team and CBET committee to improve gaps
  • Support CBET Committee to create links and coordinate with the tourism private sector including: tour operators, travel agents etc.
  •  Oversee the promotion and marketing efforts for the CBET sites

Support to the CBET Team:

  • Capacity building and community empowerment.
  • Improving tourism products and services
  • Proper use of the established accounting, rotation, and other related CBET procedures, strategies and monitoring systems
  • Create CBET work and budget plans, Income and expanse monitoring.
  • Implementation of plans.

Manage project budgets

Coordinate and Liaise activities with local, provincial and central government authorities

Work closely with partner NGO’s and other entities

Work closely with Wildlife Alliance project managers respectively.

Assist in facilitation of visits including donors, researchers and other.

Work location based in Phnom Penh and in the field at a 50% / 50% ratio 

Competitive salary will be offered, depending on qualifications, level and years of experience.
