Communications Officer (HK)

We expose global environmental problems and force positive changes through research, lobbying and non-violent direct action.

COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER

Responsibilities

  • To plan and co-ordinate media activities of Greenpeace primarily in Hong Kong
  • To ensure communication strategies, tactics and messages are reflected in all media (both traditional and social media) and communications materials released
  • To ensure the standard of Greenpeace media and communications outputs full-fill professional and high quality standards
  • To build and maintain a sound general knowledge of all Greenpeace campaigns and issues in order to be capable of responding to general media inquiries
  • To explore and network with new and existing media based in Hong Kong to enhance communicating GP campaigns
  • To work closely with Fundraising department and to deliver assigned projects and objectives
  • To work closely with the media and web team in other offices in GPEA to deliver GP campaigns

 

Requirements:

  • Degree in Media/Communications or equivalent disciplines;
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in the media or communications profession ;
  • Committed to Greenpeace values
  • Comprehensive knowledge and strong analytical skills of the global and local media landscape.
  • Knowledge of strategic communications and marketing concepts, principles,
  • Strategic thinker in building high profile media and communications strategies
  • Knowledge of web marketing and new media is an advantage
  • Self-driven, open-minded and a team player;
  • Able to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
  • Excellent command of English and Mandarin is a must.
