Directory Entry : Founded in 1967 as the Environmental Defense Fund, we tackle the most serious environmental problem...a scrappy group of scientists and a lawyer on Long Island, New York, fighting to save osprey from the toxic pesticide DDT. Using scientific evidence, our founders got DDT banned nationwide. Today, we’re one of the world's leading environmental organizations. In the U.S., Fortune magazine called our board one of the country's most influential nonprofit boards. You can see the jobs of the EDF on their website.

Description
IMPORTANT:  This Advertiser has requested that applicants MUST be National Residents / Valid Work Permit-holders.  Other applicants need not apply.

The U.S. is on the verge of a revolution in the way we make, move and use energy. Stronger clean air standards, abundant shale gas, an aging power structure—and the falling cost of solar and wind—are creating an opportunity to transition to a cleaner, more efficient energy system. In an era of powerful new information and communication technologies, the EDF Clean Energy Program is helping transform our country’s electricity system in order to grow our economy, slash harmful pollution and give people control over their energy use and costs. Our clean energy experts are working with regulators, policymakers, clean tech entrepreneurs and other stakeholders in key states to hasten the clean energy economy by modernizing utility business models, making the grid more resilient and less wasteful, leveling the playing field for clean energy and unleashing the power of private capital.

Working closely with and reporting to the Communications Director, Clean Energy, the Communications Manager will utilize media and marketing, technical and persuasive writing, and political strategy skills, among others, to develop, manage and implement social and traditional communications strategies that advance the goals of EDF’s clean energy efforts. The ideal candidate will be a strategic and creative thinker with a strong knowledge of regulatory, political and campaign strategies along with an interest in energy and environmental issues.
