FOUR PAWS is an international animal welfare organisation with headquarters in Vienna, Austria, and has offices in 10 other countries. Founded in 1988, the organisation pleads for animal welfare through sustainable campaigns and projects. FOUR PAWS focuses on animals that are directly under human influence, for example stray dogs and stray cats, laboratory animals, farm animals, wild animals and companion animals kept in inappropriate housing. FOUR PAWS aims to help animals in need directly and quickly.

FOUR PAWS is searching for a Communications Manager to lead on the development and
execution of communications strategies to raise brand awareness of FOUR PAWS in the UK.

COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER (m/f)

London, Salary £ 30.500 / year plus pensions and benefits

Key responsibilities will be to increase brand recognition and awareness levels in the UK, to develop and deliver an integrated communications plan covering PR, marketing and web, and to develop positive relationships with key media to secure and grow media coverage. To support these initiatives duties will include writing UK press releases and adapting international press releases, pitching stories to the media, organising press trips and working with external agencies to provide benchmarking and competitor brand awareness.


As part of the charity’s international activities the Communications Manager will also provide comms and marketing support to campaigns, fundraising and conduct internal monitoring of media/communications activities. The Communication Manager will also be responsible for the recruitment and management of a UK Celebrity Ambassador working with FOUR PAWS head office.

This role will involve some international travel.

The successful candidate will have at least 3 years’ experience in PR, marketing or
communications and be able to prove an ability to translate international activity into an effective national communications strategy. The ability to manage media relationships will be key to success as will good communications, an ability to set and achieve priorities and to work effectively as part of a small team. A passion for animal welfare will be a distinct advantage.
