Introduction

Supporting and reporting to the Programme Director - Japan, the Communications Manager is responsible for leading the development and implementation of the communications strategy for MSC in Japan. Utilising creative and organisational skills, the post holder contributes to a diverse range of activities to promote the MSC’s mission and ensure successful delivery of the communications strategy. Responsible for growing the MSC’s media work, social media presence and events management in Japan, you will be a regular point of contact for members of journalists. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all MSC Japan communications are targeted to meet audience needs, are produced to a high standard, and represent the MSC accurately and persuasively.

Required skills

The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar or transferable role; experience of successfully interacting with media professionals; excellent verbal communication skills, especially the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and simply; and experience of writing, editing and proofreading articles and publications.
