The Office of Marine Programs (OMP) at the University of Rhode Island’s Graduate School of Oceanography invites applicants for Communications Manager for the Deep Carbon Observatory and other externally funded earth and ocean science-oriented engagement and communications research projects.

Oversees and manages development of a wide range of written scientific content for a variety of audiences including scientific and public, and assists with proposal development efforts and reporting requirements. Keeps apprised of scientific developments and research results in OMP’s areas of project responsibility, and works with scientific investigators and project leaders to interpret in writing their scientific findings as content for the web, print materials, and video. Develops and coordinates an international network of engagement liaisons and project leaders associated with OMP projects and designs and implements training programs and resources to support engagement activities. Manages relationships with scientific colleagues and acts as liaison between OMP Director and personnel, consultants, subcontractors, and collaborators involved in OMP projects.
